Low Credit Score Woes…

Low Credit Score Woes…

Low Credit Score Woes“Character is the ability to carry out a good resolution long after the excitement of the moment has passed.”
– Cavett Robert

One of my greatest challenges in life has been to complete what I’ve started.

I’m a very strong starter…

An average implementer…

And in the past a brutal finisher…

When people come to me with their low credit score tales I can usually relate with them because often they also need to learn how to finish what they started.

Which of you with a bad credit score doesn’t want to raise your credit score?

No one? That’s what I thought.

How many times have you bounced out of bed ready to take on the world ready to…

  •  Lose those nagging 5 pounds
  • Quit smoking
  • Balance your check book
  • Improve your credit score
  • Learn another language

Only to have your fire fizzle into oblivion by mid-week?

Don’t feel bad… we all do it.

Low Credit Score as a Motivator

The key is to find a powerful enough motivator to help carry you through the hard times…

Make a list of all the challenges that come with living with bad credit and then make a list on the other side of the page of all the anticipated benefits you will receive when you finally stick to improving your credit score until you reach your goal.

Don’t allow past disappointments to stop you from trying again.

Let go of your low credit score woes once and for all by grasping your financial goals and dreams.

Credit Score Reminder… It’s Not What You Think!

Credit Score Reminder… It’s Not What You Think!

Credit Score Reminder... It's Not What You Think!“Remember that:
Money will always match your mindset.”

— Dr. Joe Vitale: Motivational author and speaker

I love how Joe Vitale opens this quote with…

“Remember that”

It’s important we remind ourselves of the mindset that will lead us in the direction we want to go.

There are so many distractions in life, it’s easy to get discouraged and slightly veer off track and before you know it we are lost.

We only have so many years to carve out our financial future it’s crucial we stay on track.

Remember…

Take care of the little things: get your credit score regularly, update your budget, put money away in savings, never stop learning, set goals and work hard to achieve them..

If you keep busy with these sorts of things your perspective will stay focused.

Your “credit score reminder” is one of a healthy perspective.

Here’s to a great holiday season and the achievement of your financial goals and dreams.

More Credit Score Anxiety.

More Credit Score Anxiety

more credit score anxietyYesterday I wrote a post called Your Credit Score Bring You Anxiety where I spoke of the dangers of avoiding getting your credit score with the fear of what you may find.

Today talks of more credit score anxiety but with a broader scope.

Dr. Joe Vitale says: “Your wealth is hiding under
the very thing you are afraid to do.”

Fear can be a silent killer of all dreams.

If we allow fear to stop us from doing what we know we need to do in order to fulfill our goals and dreams than we have allowed something that may not even be real to determine the outcome of our life.

Whether you have fear of taking action with your credit score, your job, your education or your personal finances it is important to identify the issue and deal with it before wasted years pass and you are no closer to your goals.

Muster the courage to look under your fear for there you will find your treasure.

Your Credit Score Bring You Anxiety?

Your Credit Score Bring You Anxiety?

your credit score bring you anxiety?I’m a little embarrassed to admit this but…

Years ago I was afraid that maybe somehow my credit score had dropped so instead of checking it to know for sure, I just ignored it.

WOW huh?

The old “head in the sand” technique.

It’s kind of funny to look back now but I was wondering…

Does your credit score bring you anxiety?

Now that I operate a blog on the subject I realize I was far from alone in my head space of having anxiety about my credit score.

Turns out many of you do too.

You know what? That’s OK!…

Really!

Don’t beat yourself up over it, but try to think it through rationally.

A) If your credit score is good and you don’t check well than no harm no foul

B) If your credit score is good and you do check than wahoo… that feels good… right?

C) If your credit score is worse than you thought and you don’t check… thats tragic!

D) If your credit score is worse than you thought and you do check then you can stop stressing about it and fix it…. right?

Option “C” is the worst case scenario by a long shot… “A” is good but only if you’re lucky.

If you want to take control of your finances and your credit score…

Don’t let your credit score bring you anxiety!!!!

Raise My Credit Score by 100 Points.

Raise My Credit Score by 100 Points

raise my credit score by 100 pointsMany in the past have asked questions like “is it possible to raise my credit score 100 points by Christmas?”

Answer…

Good news and bad news…

Good news… yes it’s very possible to raise your credit score 100 points.

The “not so” bad news is, although it won’t happen by Christmas you could conceivably do it by the time your credit card bills arrive in the New Year mail. Most think it takes a long time but following these steps it is possible to raise your credit score fast.

Since at least 2 out of 3 Americans have at least one blemish on their credit score significant enough to be denied a loan, housing, insurance or utilities this post probably applies to the majority of my readers.

The following method has been proven to work in many case in as little as 45 days.

Step #1Get your credit score from all 3 bureaus

Step #2 – By scrutinizing the 3 reports look for discrepancies between them. Look for differences in how each item is reported on each file such as dates filed, amounts, balance due or creditor. Any item that is not identical between the 3 bureau reports is an inaccurate item you are within your right to legitimately dispute.

Step #3 – Prioritize the items from most severe to least  Public record items (things like foreclosure, bankruptcy etc) are most severe,.

Step #4 – Beginning with the most severe items put together a letter for each of the bureaus with no more than 5 dispute items per letter and send it as certified mail.

Step #5 – Wait to receive a reply… typically 30-35 days at which time if successful you should see a large increase to your credit score.

Step #6 – Repeat the above process with any remaining disputed items.

The above strategy is the same most credit repair specialists use so get out there, give it a try and enjoy 2012 with a new higher credit score.

Credit Score Work.

Credit Score Work

credit score work“Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work. ”
– Stephen King, author

We so often hear “it’s the little things” that separate good from great but yet how many of us really pay attention to the details?

I’m guilty as charged…

Often I catch myself avoiding doing it “right” even knowing what I know.

Credit score work is not glamorous, fun or exciting but is necessary to live the life of your dreams.

The nice thing about credit score work is it isn’t complicated, difficult or hard work.

It is a matter of consistently doing the little things over and over for… well… forever!

So get working on making it a habit and you will be realizing the lifestyle of your dreams before you know it.

Is 600 a Good Credit Score?

Is 600 a Good Credit Score?

is 600 a good credit scorePeople are always asking if there credit score is good or not.

For some reason “is 600 a good credit score“? seems to be a very popular question.

Oddly enough my answer today would be different than it was a few years back.

600 was a decent credit score before the economy began tightening up and now is it not considered all that strong.

Prior to the downturn banks were much more liberal with their lending but have since begun only lending with premium interest rates, or lend at all to those with much higher credit scores.

The good news to those with a 600 credit score is…

Your score could definitely be far worse so you have far less improving to do than many others.

Take your 600 credit score, fine tune your financial habits and before you know it you will be in with the upper echelon enjoying the best lenders have to offer.
